Project Goal

The interactive map allowed users to submit the location of non-emergency traffic concerns, along with the type of concern (e.g., speeding, traffic lights and stop signs, pedestrian concerns). Users could also select previously submitted concerns and “vote” for them to express agreement with said concern. It was a very visual way for the Newark Police Department to identify areas in need of increased traffic enforcement.

Business Problem Solved

The map added another way for residents to notify the Newark Police Department of a non-emergency traffic concern, as opposed to calling the department or responding to a mailed survey.

Technology Implemented

ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and the Crowdsource Reporter and Crowdsource Manager web map applications.
