Oil Spill Coordinators Office with contributions from eight other government agencies. The two-volume set contains over 40 geospatial layers with ArcView and GeoMedia GIS. Business Problem Develop the second version of the Louisiana GIS CD providing free, easily available, commonly used, high quality, digital spatial data and satellite imagery primarily for oil spill response and planning. Make these data available on CD for broad distribution to emergency response personnel, decision makers, managers, and experts in State, Federal and local agencies, and industry involved in environmental and oil spill related work. The CD will also be distributed to universities, schools and libraries for educational purposes. Technology Implemented Technology included the use of several GIS software systems, including Arc-Info and ArcView, and GPS for data development, project development and quality control. Erdas Imagine image processing software was used to create seamless satellite imagery. Professional cartography, Visual Basic programming, web development tools, metadata tools and graphics systems were used in several phases of the project.
