To build a 3 dimensional GIS that could handle the cadastral records of property in Acapulco that could grow to become a multi-use geographical information system Business Problem 1.-To have a true inventory of the urban, suburban and rural property for the city of Acapulco, Mexico.
2.-To link the geographical information system of cadastral property with the database of property taxpayers in order to depurate and reconcile the information that has to be the same for both purposes.
3.-To link the information of cadastral property with the existing database of federal zone taxpayers (beach and sea front properties).
4.-To have a system that could handle the legal partition of cadastral property in vertical and horizontal condominiums hence the requirement for a 3D system that includes the Z-coordinate in its design Technology Implemented We are using ArcView and ArcInfo based on ArcSDE. We are also developing some applications using MapObjects and plan to put the information on Internet by means of ArcIMS Development Team Biography 1.-Enrique Pasta, Project Leader, Treasurer for the City of Acapulco and former Cadastral Director
