Business Problem

As Economic Developers, our goal is to provide the research and information that businesses require to make decisions. Those decisions often involve the relocation or expansion of their businesses to North Dakota. A tool like CIMA allows the decision makers to explore the geography and demographics of North Dakota without contacting our agency or making personal contact. This is of high importance in Economic Development, where relocation and expansion decisions are often made without a local or regional developer even being contacted.

Technology Implemented

The server-side processing for all online state-agency applications in North Dakota is provided by ESRI ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and IBM Websphere products hosted at the ND Information Technology Department. The client processing is provided by the CIMA client, which was developed with Macromedia Flash by Bullberry Systems of Bismarck, ND.
