New York Metropolitan Transportation AuthorityOur GIS application has created a tool for motor vehicle collision analysis by non-technical staff to recommend, develop and implement remedial measures to enhance safety on New York City’s major toll Bridges and Tunnels.
Business Problem While collision rates throughout the region continue to increase our agency continues to achieve reductions. This is because the system allows for real time analysis to determine high collision areas, then zoning and sectoring these areas for detailed analysis. The end result is a GIS application that has paid for itself in by improving roadway safety for our customers.
