Business Problem

We have all of this GIS data that is not being utilized like it should and users were not using ArcView. We purchased ArcIMS and made the data available through our local WAN and now users can look at the data using their windows Explorer. This takes most, if not all, of the learning curve out of using GIS data to their benefit.

Technology Implemented

Our data is in CAD format. From there we use arc/info to make updates available for our coverages. Once the coverages are updated we then conver the coverages to shape files. Our main data base is DB2 and we update our access database so the shapefiles and database are in sync. Lastly, we process the data for the ArcIMS server and make the data available for our organization.
