Ada County Land Records Division was formed in the early 1990's. The Division provides data and map analysis for several cities, local agencies, businesses and the public.

Business Problem

Ada County is located in Boise, Idaho. Boise is home to Albertson's corporate headquarters; one of nations largest grocery stores chains, we have Micron/pc the nations third largest direct seller of computers, Hewlett Packard, Simplot and Boise Corporation formerly known as Boise Cascade.
The demographic brief of Boise shows that the population has gone from 205,775 in 1990 to 300,904 in 2000, a growth change of 95,129. Ranked by percentage change we fall in fourth place behind AZ and TX. The land area of Ada County is 2000 square miles encompassing six cities within it’s boundary.

County information is used for addressing management, planning and operation activities and other needs. The general public can view and print on-line County maps via the internet from their home or office. Customers' comments have been favorable.

Technology Implemented

The parcel map was created through COGOing deed and plat records. Ada County GIS uses ESRI’s ArcInfo software, in both workstation (AIX) and personal computer (NT) versions.

Development Team Biography

The Ada County Land Records Division consists of 13 staff positions; 7 deed processors and 6 GIS, all located in the Assessor's Office. This Division has maintained an excellent staff of analysts and technicians familiar with local government and the community.
