Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Natural ResourcesView Photo(s) of Award Presentation Preserving native American language using GIS technology. Learn more about our application Business Problem The Coeur d'Alene Tribe only has a handful of Tribal Elders that speak the Coeur d'Alene Language. Using GIS we were able to use the Tribal Geography as a means for teaching the language. This not only includes the language put also the stories that go along with the geography. Technology Implemented We used ArcIMS, ArcSDE, and Real Media as a means to create the interface and data storage for the project. The solution is a webbed based solution so the end-users are not required to have any software to view the final product. Development Team Biography Frank M.
