Business Problem Solved

A major business problem that the County has solved was in connecting remote offices throughout the county to the main computer network in order to retrieve GIS information. The County solved this problem by evaluating numerous hardware and software platforms. The county chose Citrix to connect internal remote sites and ESRI ArcIMS web technology to connect anywhere with an internet connection.

Technology Implemented

The County GIS employs a SQL 2000 ArcIMS Web Server using the new “Geo-Database Concept”. Two redundant ArcInfo Servers, two redundant ArcView servers, and a SQL 2000 SDE database server. The county currently licenses 31 Arcview, 7 ArcInfo, 3 Auto Desk Civil Design and various other ESRI compliant software programs.
