Business Problem Solved

1) Greenwood's previous GIS website was based on the HTML viewer template and was sometimes too slow for users with dial-up Internet access. The county also needed to reduce software maintenance requirements by creating a single website to support intranet, Internet, and premium website subscribers. In addition, advanced GIS functionality was needed such as buffering, mailing label creation, and the ability to insert graphics and text.

2) The county needed a better enterprise solution for maintaining the GIS database. Editing coverages with ArcInfo workstation technology was too cumbersome and lacked a modern user interface.
