Project Goal

TEDIS stands for Transportation and Economic Development Information System (http://tedis.marshall.edu/). It is an evolving Internet portal based on a multi-enterprise geographic information system (GIS) approach that offers transportation and business professionals immediate access to real time information integrated with tools designed to provide improved management decision support, data sharing and technology transfer between private sector and various government agencies.

Business Problem Solved

By focusing on the transportation strengths in the Appalachian region relating to Economic Development TEDIS can improve the way data is transferred into and out of the region. By providing a unified platform across the region of infrastructure, industrial sites, parks and buildings integrated with access to transportation corridors, zoning, and existing infrastructure to potential developers, this system can be an invaluable tool to help promote the region. With this planning and marketing efforts can focus on the regions strengths.
