Business Problem Solved

Provided geographic information to elected officials, county administration and the public in efficient means to leverage money spent on data acquisition... establishment of a fully-functioning GIS as a decision making tool for DeSoto County, Mississippi.

Technology Implemented

ArcGIS including ArcView, ArcInfo, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, & ArcIMS.

Development Team Biography

Sam Russell, AICP, Director, with DeSoto County 8 years, 5 as the Planner, 3 as GIS Director (set-up dept).

Matt Crisler, Technical Analyst, 1-04 to present, 3 years in GIS, enhanced and updated ArcIMS and data.

Jason Smiley, Technical Analyst, 10-01 to 12-03, 3 years in GIS, helped set-up department and websit.
