Project Goal

The objective was to study the racial, ethnic and gender population surrounding each store. This information supports a family of measures embracing such practices as: recruitment/selection, training and development, workforce planning and labor market statistics. By better understanding the community’s cultural diversity, the company could implement its diversity focus via employment, product, and marketing needs. And with this information, associates would be better prepared to serve customers.

Business Problem Solved

When Luxottica Retail developed a company objective to focus on diversity, one of the steps was to give field management greater awareness of the diverse demographic population surrounding each store. Luxottica Retail created customized store demographic reports and presented them to field leaders with our Diversity partners: Global Lead. The reports brought to light special needs the stores should be aware of to better serve customers and maximize sales: from language challenges to product needs.

Technology Implemented

Besides using the full scope of the Business Analyst extension, Luxottica Retail utilizes its customer transaction database and its Human Resources’ records.
