AgTerra Technologies, Inc.

Project Goal

The goal of our project was to use ArcIMS as a means for making agriculture information system data in AgTerra's AgTrac application easily accessible. It was highly desirable that the user be able to build an online map that then could be downloadable as an ArcGIS, ArcExplorer and ArcPad project.

Business Problem Solved

In the agriculture and natural resource environments, it is highly desirable to have a tool that allows those unaquainted with GIS to have the ability to, not only view and print custom maps, but to be able to download them to desktop and GPS enabled pocket pc applications. AgTerra's Internet Map Server program works in conjunction with the company's AgTrac applications to help link tabular field data with spatial data to help direct field based activities such as crop scouting, soil sampling, and ground-truthing remote imagery.

Technology Implemented

ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcPad, ArcExplorer, PHP, PostgreSQL, XML.
