Business Problem Solved

It is our responsibility to monitor our aircraft when flying below radar altitude. In the case of an accident, the application provides us with location information for 911 emergency response.

Technology Implemented

A transmitter on the aircraft sends data to a satellite, which then transmits the data to the Satellite webserver. Our webserver pulls this data every minute and stores the data in a SQL database. A trigger on the SQL database then sends the data to the ArcSDE feature class and creates a new record using the api. The map service is set to refresh every 30 seconds so that new records will be displayed.
