Nevada Division of Environmental ProtectionProject Goal
The overall goal of the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection was to integrate use of GIS technology into agency data systems to enable geographic search for environmental information and spatial analysis of environmental problems. Business Problem Solved
The Division consolidated GIS resources, including software, hardware and data, resulting in more efficient management of those resources. We provide a range of GIS services to Division users depending on their needs. All employees have desktop access to i-MapNV, an ArcIMS application that includes base map datasets and all of the Division’s regulated facilities and sites of interest. This application provides integrated access to environmental data sets. More advanced GIS users have access to more sophisticated mapping tools for specialized mapping and spatial analysis needs. Technology Implemented
We use the suite of ESRI software, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcInfo Workstation, ArcIMS and ArcSDE with an Oracle database. Development Team Biography
