The goal of the project was to implement an enterprise GIS system in the City of Kansas City, Missouri. Business Problem Solved
The enterprise GIS solved several business problems. City of Kansas City, MO staff are now using an enterprise database for GIS data maintenance and analysis. The enterprise database eliminates duplicate data maintenance activities and concerns about correct data. We have updated software, new data maintenance tools and workflows, as well as a new citizen accessible GIS Web site. Technology Implemented
The City of Kansas City, MO enterprise database is implemented on an Oracle database using ArcSDE technology. ArcGIS applications and software are used for data maintenance and analysis. The Water Services department uses ArcGIS in conjunction with Hansen’s GeoAdministrator to keep their GIS and Hansen data in sync. Development Team Biography
The City team consisted of staff members from City departments including: Information Technology, Water Services, City Planning and Development, Parks and Recreation, Health, Neighborhoods and Community Services, and others. The City worked with ESRI Professional Services to implement the system. |
