Abstract Additional FS Functionalities in NILS Track: Land Management Author(s): Francisco Perez, Sevda Erturk The National Integrated Land System (NILS) is a joint project between the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and USDA Forest Service (USFS). NILS provides a business solution to land managers who face an increasingly complex environment of complicated transactions, legal challenges, and deteriorating and difficult-to-access records. The Measurement Management application in NILS has provided a GIS-based work environment for entering and maintaining survey-based data. This application is used by the BLM as well as USFS surveyors. Recently, a new application for USFS users was added to NILS called USFS Maintenance to integrate USFS users into the NILS system by allowing them to access and manipulate their data within NILS. The USFS Maintenance jobs offer the same tools and tasks as an MM Maintenance job. Within these jobs, USFS users will be able to create jobs across multiple States and edit data within the active State of the job.
