Abstract Real-time GIS using ArcGIS Server Web and Mobile Track: Implementing Survey Data in GIS Author(s): Bruce Robinson, Chris Walls, Prem Radhakrishnan B.L. Robinson Engineering & Surveying, Co. (BLR) of Akron, Ohio is currently managing serveral large spatial datasets covering three core areas: Great Lakes Watershed, State of Ohio and Appalachian Providence. These datasets include many valuable layers such as Oil and gas mineral locations, gas well locations, soils, national wetland inventory, aerial imagery, L.I.D.A.R, property lines, road centerlines, streams, lakes and rivers. BLR partnered with 39 Degrees North to develop a solution, which allows distributed data management for these datasets. The ArcGIS Server application enables desktop and mobile users to send and receive real-time GIS data stored on a central server. This technology will allow everyone from governmental agencies to private industry and professionals to manage their personal data needs remotely and communicate geospatially within their organizations without the expense of supporting terabytes of base data.
