Abstract Metes and Bounds Track: Land Management Author(s): Francisco Perez To date the National Integrated Land System (NILS) has been focused on the creation, display and management of Public Land Survey System (PLSS) data in the western states of the United States. BLM and USFS case land descriptions in most of the eastern half of the United States and in some western areas are in a metes and bounds format which uses physical features (that might move or disappear) of the local geography along with directions and distances to define and describe the boundaries of land. BLM and USFS will be extending the NILS application to fully support Metes and Bounds (M&B) data creation, display, and management. The Metes and Bounds extension will be implemented as a module of NILS and LR2000 systems. This extension will be developed in two major phases. This presentation will discuss the first phase of the Metes and Bounds extension Francisco Perez ESRI 380 New York St. Redlands , California 92373 United States Phone: (909) 793 2853 Fax: (909) 307-3014 E-mail: fperez@esri.com |
