Project Goal

Qatar Petroleum GIS Program goal is to provide quality high availability GIS services to users across the enterprise at minimum costs, based on flexible and reusable service oriented architecture that aligns with the overall objectives of QP business.

Over the last 5 years, GIS in QP have been successful in laying the groundwork to achieve the goal by positioning its business processes with global best practices, standards, and monitoring for continuous quality improvement. Currently, QP Information Technology Department GIS processes are ISO 9000-2001 certified and has attained the maturity level to move forward.
