Project Goal
The USC GIS Research Lab seeks to develop cutting edge geographic analysis tools and to apply these tools in ways that increase our understanding of the built and natural environments while training the next generation of geographic information scientists and promoting the utilization of geographic information science concepts and technologies beyond the discipline of geography.Business Problem Solved

Technology Implemented
The USC GIS Research Lab makes extensive use of the ESRI GIS product suite, including ArcGIS (both the desktop and server solutions), ArcIMS, ArcPad, ArcSDE, and the GeoPortal software solutions.
Development Team Biography
The USC GIS Research Lab team comrpises faculty and students drawn from a variety of disciplines. The key faculty include John Wilson (Lab Director - Geography, Computer Science, Civil & Environmental Engineering), Myles Cockburn (Preventive Medicine), Andrew Curtis (Geography), Steve Koletty (Geography), Jacqueline Mills (Geography), Jingfen Sheng (Geography), Jennifer Swift (Civil & Environmental Engineering), and Zaria Tatalovich (Geography). Graduate and undergraduate research assistants help out on specific projects as needed.
