Project Goal
Develop GIS System for King Abdallah Financial District, an iconic district in Riyadh with 50+ operational towers, and several under development. It spans 6.2 million m2 of built-up area and includes the Riyadh’s tallest skyscraper at 385 m. This included developing GIS standards & procedures, Data conversion, Database design, Requirement Gathering and application development using ESRI technology. Throughout the project Several digital 2D & 3D GIS applications were developed and deployed on premise to cover the different stakeholders such as Smart City, Facility Management, Security, Marketing, Project Delivery, IT & Commercial.Business Problem Solved
This project advanced BIM & GIS integration, using agile methodology to develop user-friendly applications for non-GIS users. Stakeholders from various departments aimed for innovation, sustainability, and revenue, requiring diverse datasets like utility data, CRM, Maximo, BIM, CAD, and real-time navigation data. The platform integrates LOD 500 BIM data with 2D & 3D maps, supporting visualization and stakeholder needs. Mechanical & Electrical assets can be queried, and building rooms and units form an interactive LOD 100 city model. 800 BIM files were linked to the GIS platform. Applications support sales, leasing, operations, facility management, and marketing through integrated dashboards and viewers. The GIS system became a single data source, supporting smart city applications and integrating with CCTV, BMS, parking, customer experience systems, Maximo, navigation, and traffic management. Integration with PowerBi placed KAFD maps at the core of reports and dashboards.
