Project Goal

Rwanda Space Agency is developing a Geospatial Hub to effectively leverage Earth Observation (EO) data for social and economic development.The use of Earth Observation data is proving to be an effective tool for informed decision making, policy formulation, research, and creation of employment opportunities for the private sector, among other benefits.

The Geospatial Hub will serve as a national center for Earth Observation data and solutions, providing a national-scale platform and program to democratize the capacity to process and analyze satellite data.

The Hub will be open to users in government entities, academia, and the private sector, providing routine, freely available data products and services.

Rwanda Space Agency continues to seek partnerships with government entities, local and international industry stakeholders, and academia for success in establishing and utilizing the Geospatial Hub

Development Team Biography

- Col Francis Ngabo: CEO of RSA, is an engineer in Electronic and Communication with close to 20 years of experience in the field of telecommunication. His experience includes holding the post of Spectrum Manager in the Regulatory Authority and heading various departments of Information and Communication Systems in Government institutions.

- Georges Kwizera: CTO of RSA oversees Space Technology Development in Rwanda in line with National Strategy. He has 11 years of experience in ICT Regulation, Spectrum Matters and Satellites. Since 2012, he has taken different leadership roles on the African Continent for coordinating the World Radiocommunication Conferences on satellite

-Dr Yves Hategekimana:Experienced Doctoral Researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Skilled in Remote Sensing Applications,GEE, Databases, and information security. Strong research professional with PhD focused on Earth observation and Big Data.
