Anguilla Statistics Department

Project Goal

The Anguilla Statistics Department (ASD) has been working with Spatial Innovision Ltd, Jamaica, an international distributor, for over the past three (3) years to develop an end to end solution to capture the entire enumeration process of the Anguilla Population and Housing (AP&H) Census 2022. The AP&H Census 2022 transitioned from a Paper and Pencil Interview (PAPI) used in previous AP&H Censuses to a fully Tablet Assisted Personal Interview (TAPI) using the ArcGIS software.

This approach is in an attempt to improve the quality of the data by validating and introducing checks and balances to reduce the work required after enumeration. It also allows for visual monitoring of the work being undertaken in real-time.

Additionally, it aids in reducing the timeframe between the end of data collection (enumeration) and analysis and dissemination.
