Project Goal

The project goal of the ZBGIS development project was to update the ZBGIS applications and services to the latest versions of ESRI products, modern web technologies, and provide users with data from internal and external GIS systems that are published within the Slovak Republic.

Business Problem Solved

ZBGIS Map Client functionality was enhanced for working with 3D visualization, such as measurement and layer slicing (swipe), as well as full display of external data, with integration to the land registry, address register, reference geodetic points, digital elevation model, digital surface model, orthoimagery, lidar point clouds, geographical names, raster maps from archives, and the LPIS (Land Parcel Information System) and Agricultural layers. The ZBGIS products and services are used by users from various areas of the public sphere, such as the public, real estate agencies, banks, local government, state administration, media, geologists, archaeologists, designers, surveyors, the army, historians, experts in geodesy and cartography, and the general public. The number of unique users who use ZBGIS exceeded 70,000 per day.
