Project Goal
AmericanAg® is a global provider of reinsurance services. As such, our goal was to develop an enterprise GIS-based solution, utilizing appropriate safeguards, that would allow property and casualty insurance company clients the ability to quantify risks and identify potential drivers of loss in ways that traditional methods cannot, and limit access to said data within client groups. ArcGIS Enterprise provides us with a perfect solution for doing just that.Business Problem Solved
Understanding the spatial relationships of insurance policyholders is fundamental to the analysis of catastrophe loss potential. When a catastrophe occurs, it is important for insurers to be able to identify the areas that may be most adversely affected.
With the ArcGIS Enterprise solution, we can make our clients’ policyholder data more accessible and enhance it with geographic information. Catastrophe hazard information is made accessible within the ArcGIS Portal in near real-time. Intuitive spatial aggregation and relationship methods are made programmatic so a broad perspective of risk definition could be received. The use of ArcGIS Dashboards enabled our clients to more efficiently understand how natural perils threaten their insureds by visualizing the relationships between policies and major catastrophic events. ArcGIS Insights allowed post-event reports to be generated within seconds, thus allowing further questions to be quickly answered when new relationships are identifie
