Project Goal
Agora aimed to create a Digital Twin of the Belval and Metzeschmelz projects. The main objective of this tool is twofold: on one hand, it is intended to support better internal decision-making by facilitating and accelerating project planning and management; on the other, it is designed to serve as a communication and information tool for the public, urban planners, investors, and public institutions.Business Problem Solved
The Digital Twin integrates the current state and future planning for Belval and Metzeschmelz. GIS data and BIM models were created in ArcGIS Pro and published to ArcGIS Online, resulting in five models. Bookmarks present key data in clear visual sequences.
Integration with Scene Viewer, Instant Apps, and Experience Builder makes the models accessible, even for users with limited GIS skills.
Model 1 (Belval) shows existing and planned buildings, infrastructure, and BIM networks. Model 2 (Metzeschmelz) displays current planning and building usage. Model 3 (Mobility) connects both sites showing different transport modes. Model 4 (Existing Structures of MZ) compiles BIM models of industrial structures modelled using photogrammetry and includes 360° VR views. Model 5 (ArcGIS Urban) is a pilot converting a Belval neighbourhood into an ArcGIS Urban model to explore platform features.
Experience Builder apps enable intuitive navigation, with simplified Digital Twin versions on Agora’s website
