Project Goal
The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has utilized Esri's ArcGIS and Schneider Electric’s ArcFM solutions since 2007 to efficiently manage transmission and distribution network assets. Along with applications like GIS One Touch Service for rapid cost estimation and Facility Siting and Design for Long Project, PEA has expanded GIS adoption by increasing the number of users with Mobile Job Management and Mobile GIS for Field Operations. These tools revolutionize field workforce management by enabling real-time task assignment, progress tracking, and access to network data. This innovation enhances operational efficiency, empowers field teams, and supports PEA’s vision for innovation and service excellence.Business Problem Solved
PEA has also developed several innovative GIS-based applications that enhance operational efficiency and customer service. The GIS One Touch Service revolutionizes the cost estimation process for new connection requests, reducing processing times from several days to less than an hour. This dramatic improvement not only enhances operational efficiency but also significantly boosts customer satisfaction by providing quick and accurate service responses. The Facility Siting and Design for Long Project (FAC-LP) allows engineers to design projects and generate bills of materials (BOM) without field surveys, accelerating project timelines. Additionally, the Mobile Job Management and Mobile GIS for Field Operations applications improve field workforce management, enabling real-time job assignment, progress tracking, and mobile editing for tasks such as patrolling, redlining, and maintenance.
