Business Problem Solved

While authoritative weather data is available from sources like NOAA and other agencies, it is often complex, difficult to access, or not formatted for seamless integration into insurers’ workflows. PLRB Members needed a faster, simpler way to retrieve accurate historical weather data at the address level without having to process or transform the raw data themselves. This project bridges that gap by transforming high-quality public datasets into ready-to-use geospatial formats. Through PLRB’s ArcGIS-based services and JavaScript tools, members can easily visualize, access, and integrate weather data into their GIS platforms or retrieve address-specific insights to enhance claims handling, investigations, and analysis.

Technology Implemented

ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS Pro, Python, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS Experience Builder
