Project Goal

WEB Bonaire is a utility company which provides electricity, water and waste water services to the population of Bonaire. To improve asset management processes for the different types of utility infrastructure networks owned and maintained by WEB our company decided to implement a GIS system.
GIS will support WEB's strategic goals, such as sustainable resource management, by implementing and optimizing an asset management system in GIS.
Having reliable, high quality asset information available will help WEB in making data-driven investment decisions, making well-informed design choices, supporting day-to-day operations and efficiently and effectively inform internal and external stakeholders.

By creating a single system of records in GIS WEB is eliminating issues such as fragmented and obsolete asset administrations, inaccurate and incomplete asset information and overall insufficient data quality.

Business Problem Solved

By creating a single system of records in GIS WEB is eliminating issues such as fragmented and obsolete asset administrations, inaccurate and incomplete asset information and overall insufficient data quality.
At the same time utilizing a web services architecture in GIS has improved the availability and accessibility of asset locations and asset information by making this information available to all stakeholders, on any device, any time and anywhere.
Furthermore GIS provides the technology to efficiently combine, join and integrate data from different systems in GIS. This enables WEB to perform complex (spatial) analyses on a vast array of data and generate meaningful insights that form the basis for data-driven decision making.
