Project Goal
The goal of the project was to establish a fully digital, GIS-based construction site management system that enables structured data capture, automated documentation, and real-time monitoring of construction activities. The solution improves data quality, reduces manual processing, and supports transparent, data-driven decision-making through real-time KPIs and interactive visualizations, ensuring efficient documentation and streamlined site operations throughout the project lifecycle.Business Problem Solved
The project addressed the challenge of managing construction site documentation and reporting across multiple contractors involved in a large-scale infrastructure project. Each construction company applied its own processes, tools, and reporting standards, resulting in inconsistent data structures, non-comparable performance metrics, manual data handling, and limited transparency across the project. This fragmentation made it difficult to establish uniform KPIs, monitor progress consistently, and enable reliable, project-wide reporting and decision-making.
By introducing a centralized, GIS-based digital workflow, the project established a common data standard for all contractors, ensuring that construction activities were documented in a consistent, validated, and auditable manner.

Return on Investment
The digital construction site management solution generates measurable ROI through quantifiable efficiency gains and process standardization. Each digital report replaces manual documentation and processing steps, saving approximately 10–15 minutes of effort per report. With more than 3,800 reports generated within nine months, this already represents an estimated 630–950 hours of saved working time. Based on current usage, approximately 40,000 reports are expected over the next three years, resulting in several thousand hours of avoided manual effort. In addition, the standardized reporting framework enables uniform KPIs across more than 100 active users from multiple contractors, significantly reducing coordination overhead, rework caused by inconsistent data, and management effort for consolidation and analysis. Real-time dashboards further reduce response times and support proactive project control.
