Project Goal
The goal of this project was to modernize the municipal business license process by replacing a fragmented, manual workflow with a fully digital system. The project provides a centralized platform for submitting, reviewing, and managing business license applications.Business Problem Solved
Previously, applications were submitted by paper and manually routed across five departments for approval, requiring staff to physically pass the application from one reviewer to the next. This fragmented process created delays and limited visibility, leaving both staff and the applicant without clear insight into the status of an application.

Company Overview
Springdale, home to an estimated 90,000 residents and covering 49 square miles, is the fourth-largest city in Arkansas and a key hub in the rapidly growing Northwest Arkansas metro area. With roughly 30 new residents moving to the region each day, Springdale plays a central role in driving economic growth and opportunity. To support this growth, the City of Springdale prioritizes efficient, transparent, and responsive operations.
Return on Investment
By building the business licensing system in-house, the city avoided a vendor solution costing over $30,000 per year in software, excluding additional training and maintenance costs, while creating a tailored platform that better serves residents and businesses.
