Project Goal

The purpose of this project is to provide and utilize the 3D city model platform that incorporate the pedestrian space network into the 3D city model as a simple demonstration environment to visualize and share the results of measurement, analysis, and prediction of human flow, and to create research results that will lead to appropriate design, guidance, and lively town planning.

Business Problem Solved

Our project team has built a 3D city model platform. Thereby, it is possible to discuss the issues faced by local governments and on-site stake folders by visualizing and sharing the actual situation, centering on indoor and outdoor 3D pedestrian spaces. For example, it has become practicable to discuss various issues and countermeasures related to human flow, and the establishment of an industry-academia-citizen collaboration initiative system for solving the issues has been realized.

Development Team Biography

In cooperation with the City of Yokohama, Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 (an area management organization in the Yokohama Minato Mirai area), and local companies, YNU (Yokohama National University) have launched a research team of future global environment and urban studies as an initiative to realize a new future city in the age of the global environment through industry-academia-citizens collaboration. We have been addressing urban issues on various scales based on the development of an IT platform that covers everything from global-scale simulations to regional databases.
