City of Bismarck

Project Goal

The City of Bismarck uses a variety of ESRI applications to streamline asset management and maintenance operations for entire field to office workflows. Business processes previously included a combination of manual and computer systems, which were labor intensive, unreliable, mostly paper dependent, and required duplication of effort. The goal of our team was to tailor applications for specific workflows to keep staff working efficiently using software already available at no additional cost to the City.

Business Problem Solved

Adoption of field operations applications through ESRI by city staff has become widely accepted and applied increasingly for routine inspections and tracking asset-related work assignments. Staff appreciate the ease of use, mapping interface, and the support our office is able to provide them. Managers assign and monitor work through the dispatcher map within Workforce. Field staff use Workforce to see work assigned to them and complete the assignments in either Survey123 or Field Maps. This information is updated instantly to monitor progress and display results within Operations Dashboards. The City plans to implement additional applications for accepting and assigning citizen requests and concern reports workflows in its Public Works divisions.
