Business Problem Solved

Singapore’s marine space is a shared and strategic resource with multiple users and activities. Singapore marine and coastal data also resides and is managed across multiple agencies and institutions. In order to address marine and coastal spatial planning, marine science R&D, climate change adaptation, disaster response and marine conservation, there was a need to make these data findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable and georeferenced.

With GeoSpace-Sea, Singapore government users can today discover, access, exchange and analyse the national central repository of authoritative marine and coastal spatial data and information via the GeoSpace-Sea web portal and its four featured applications – Data Catalogue, 2D Marine Viewer, 3D Marine Viewer and Data Dashboard. GeoSpace-Sea has transformed processes and opened up more possibilities for monitoring, operating, assessment and change detection, thus driving marine knowledge, and enabling more proactive and informed decisions.
