Project Goal
Provide a GIS dashboard application that displays hydroelectric dams inspected by dam safety staff along with their operation and flow parameters. The dashboard displays current weather events and stream flow data; current flows and up-to 10-day forecast. The dashboard also provides a data collection form where high flow notifications by dam operators can be collected, displayed in the dashboard, and stored for future evaluation.Business Problem Solved
Monitoring current and projected high flow conditions for 2,000 dams across the USA is accomplished with the aid of a dashboard that displays critical information and weather forecasts. The dashboard also allows notifications by dam owners to be captured and stored. The dashboard relies on the Living Atlas data for the National Water Model and live stream gauges, and compares flows to a threshold high flow for each dam. The dashboard flows are populated by running python script files through programmed batch files.
Technology Implemented
Dashboard, Survey 123, Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Pro. Enhancements planned will incorporate Esri's GeoEvent Server
