Business Problem Solved

YallBusiness allows users to explore Mississippi by using an interactive map to research existing businesses and community statistics. The application combines close to four hundred categories of freely available, and sometimes difficult to access, information from Federal and State agencies into a single site that can be used to explore potential areas for business. YallBusiness is a positive step toward promoting job creation and economic development. It also offers in-depth research to businesses never before available in one site and not available in any other State.

Technology Implemented

Esri’s ArcGIS platform was used throughout the development of the Y’all Business application. ArcGIS for Desktop was used to process many of the datasets to enable quick rendering by the end-user. The datasets available for viewing are served by ArcGIS for Server running in the State Data Center. All marketing reports were created using ArcGIS Online GeoEnrichment services. The site was created using Bootstrap and is available on most devices.
