Project Goal
Leverage advanced GIS and geo-statistical analysis to identify “educational deserts” across Mexico by measuring real-world accessibility to upper secondary education. The goal is to integrate infrastructure, population, and spatial data to generate actionable insights that guide equitable, evidence-based decisions on where to build, expand, or optimize educational services at a national scale.Business Problem Solved
Public sector decision-makers lacked a precise, data-driven understanding of where access to education is truly limited. Traditional planning based on administrative boundaries failed to capture real accessibility constraints such as travel time, connectivity, and terrain. This resulted in inefficient allocation of resources and persistent inequities in educational access. The project solves this by providing an objective, scalable, and analytically rigorous framework to identify underserved areas, prioritize interventions, and align infrastructure investments with actual population needs.
