Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS)

Project Goal

The goal of this GIS project was to model Egypt’s national gas distribution network using the ArcGIS Utility Network to support a national mission of energy modernization and social equity. This can represent a digital framework for decision making support regarding the extension of the natural gas networks to households.

Business Problem Solved

EGAS needed to transition from using GIS as a simple mapping tool to an advanced engine for national development. The project addressed the challenge of managing a massive gas distribution network by creating a unified system of record across all of Egypt. This allows decision makers to identify high-density, low-income pockets for future expansion planning. This is in addition to supporting the operational resilience and safety through precise isolation tracing in high-occupancy residential areas.
