Project Goal
The Monroeville Permitting & Tracking (MPT) was developed to modernize and unify a previously fragmented permit management system into a comprehensive, GIS-integrated platform. Originally designed to track permits alone, the legacy system limited cross-departmental access and created workflow bottlenecks due to reliance on manual communication. A key goal was to improve data accessibility and operational efficiency for municipal staff and the public.Business Problem Solved
By enabling self-service access to up-to-date information, MPT reduces dependency on interdepartmental communication and minimizes delays in decision-making. MPT expands the functionality by consolidating multiple municipal operations into a single centralized system. In addition to permits, the platform now incorporates code enforcement cases, grass cutting billing, liens, lien requests, planning commission activities, zoning board records and public permit submissions. By integrating these datasets, MPT provides a holistic view of municipal processes tied to geographic data.
