County of Chatham, NC

Project Goal

Chatham County GIS, in collaboration with Chatham County IT, implemented an ArcGIS Indoors based solution for the purposes of tracking IT asset locations and associated information. The backbone of the project is an Experience Builder application that allows staff to quickly visualize the location, age, asset type, and other related information to IT assets throughout county facilities.

The Experience Builder application allows for full editing capabilities along with the ability to view assets for each building in a dashboard. IT & GIS staff are also able to add, delete, and update features within Field Maps, when onsite. The solution also incorporates related table data for each county IT closet to view a more granular breakdown of what IT assets are located within each IT closet location.

The overall goal was to consolidate information in a centralized application for decision makers while empowering end users to manage their assets in a practical, easy to use, interface.

Business Problem Solved

Understanding where all of our IT assets are located along with what assets are close to aging out in specific locations. We were also able to consolidate disparate data sources, such as spreadsheets and siloed databases, into a single pane of glass for end users to manage their data.
