Project Goal

The goal of the Aqari DataBank Portal project is to establish a centralized and comprehensive digital platform that serves as the primary source for real estate information in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Managed by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), the portal aims to:

Provide Accurate and Comprehensive Real Estate Information: The platform is designed to house a wealth of data concerning the real estate sector, including transactions, building permits, details about both developed and undeveloped properties, off-plan sales projects, occupancy rates, and information pertinent to properties owned by non-Bahrainis.

Facilitate Informed Decision-Making: By offering up-to-date and reliable information sourced directly from official channels, the portal enables all stakeholders, including buyers, sellers, investors, developers, and government agencies, to make well-informed decisions.

The Aqari DataBank Portal addresses several key business problems within the real estate sector of the Kingdom of Bahrain:

Lack of Centralized Real Estate Data: Before the introduction of the Aqari DataBank, stakeholders in Bahrain's real estate market, including investors, developers, and government entities, faced challenges in accessing comprehensive and centralized information about real estate. The portal solved this by aggregating data from various sources into a single platform, facilitating easier access to information.

Information Transparency and Reliability: The real estate sector often suffers from information asymmetry, where one party may have more or better information than the other, leading to inefficiencies and mistrust. By providing a platform that offers accurate, updated, and comprehensive real estate data, the Aqari DataBank enhances transparency and trust among all parties involved in real estate transactions.

Utilizing Esri's Enterprise solutions on AWS servers enhances geospatial capabilities, offering scalable GIS infrastructure for data management, analysis, and visualization. This setup supports diverse applications, improving decision-making and operational efficiency across sectors.

Development Team Biography

The team for the Aqari DataBank Portal project is spearheaded by H.E. Sh. Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the CEO of RERA, who has been instrumental in advancing Bahrain's real estate sector. With a rich background in pivotal roles and significant contributions to real estate sector regulation, his leadership is key to the project's success. H.E. Sh. Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of RERA, has significantly contributed to Bahrain's real estate sector. He's held pivotal roles, including Director-General at the Survey & Land Registration Bureau. His tenure at RERA since 2017 has been marked by key initiatives like the Real Estate Databank and legal frameworks enhancing sector regulation.
Alongside him are Dr. Hamad Hazeem, Eng. Ebrahim AlBurshaid, Ms. Arwa AlKaabi, and Eng. Ahmed AlKooheji, each bringing specialized expertise to ensure the portal's innovative implementation.
