Project Goal

The project goals interweave Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology with program operations to improve agency efficiency and better allocate resources, benefiting recreational boaters in Oregon. GIS technology enables staff and partners to easily collect data and visualize the datasets into interactive web-based mapping tools and dashboards. The GIS informs program managers and agency staff in making program-related decisions and improvements. In the end, GIS highlights the hard work taking place in the Agency’s programs as it’s their concepts and their ideas, and I’m grateful that Esri offers a platform that supports bringing this all together.

Marine Law Enforcement Apps – A GIS system developed for marine law enforcement officers to record the location and details of contacts made with recreational boaters when checking for safety and registration compliance as well as reporting obstructions in a waterway.
