Project Goal
In 2023, the City of Grimes, Iowa continued to elevate our ArcGIS Enterprise System with two projects - ArcGIS Monitor deployment and Sign Data Management Solution customization and usage.Business Problem Solved
In 2022, Grimes made the leap and launched our ArcGIS Enterprise to become the system of record at the city. Staff quickly engaged with the GIS system and wanted their data in it. We embarked on two projects - deployment of ArcGIS Monitor and Sign Data Management Solution.
ArcGIS Monitor is used to monitor the health of our ArcGIS Enterprise and ensure we are right sizing our infrastructure, track layer usage, QA/QC editing process, and proactively catch issues.
Sign Data Management was a winter-time project for our Public Works Field Staff to create a comprehensive sign inventory for the City. We expanded the solution to support streetlights reporting and use to track outages of our street lights. Our Sign crew updates the data as they work on the signs across town as we complete a multi-year project to update our sign standard.
