Project Goal

Goal: To integrate ArcGIS into Transportador de Gas del Sur S.A.'s operational framework, aiming to improve communication, unify maintenance records, and streamline decision-making processes.

Objectives:

To establish a corporate GIS portal that connects various operational and business divisions.
To digitalize maintenance and operational processes, reducing paper use and manual efforts.
To provide real-time, traceable, and automatic reporting for surface facility work and pipeline maintenance.
To centralize data storage, allowing for the creation of dynamic dashboards with statistical analytics.
To enable immediate access to crucial operational data for informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Business Problem Solved

The ArcGIS Platform has significantly streamlined operations at Transportadora de Gas del Sur by enhancing inter-departmental communication, particularly for surface facility work and pipeline/compressor plant maintenance. This has been achieved through traceable request management and automatic maintenance reporting. The platform unified maintenance repositories, reports, and statistical dashboards, facilitating better decision-making through detailed data visualizations (e.g., operational pressures, repairs, and historical data). It has digitalized processes, reducing the need for paper and manual sign-offs, and improved efficiency by providing instant access to automatically generated data and indicators, saving considerable time previously spent on manual data generation.

Technology Implemented

The project seeks to resolve critical challenges by utilizing ArcGIS capabilities, resulting in improved inter-departmental communication, efficient maintenance management, and enhanced information availability. It will lead to the creation of automated workflows and reporting, fostering a significant reduction in time and resources previously dedicated to manual data compilation and process management. This, in turn, is expected to contribute to the strategic growth and operational excellence of the company.

ArcGIS Enterprise Advanced (Production and Staging), ArcGIS Pro (Advanced, Standard, and Basic), User Types (Creators, Mobile Workers, and Editors) along with ArcGIS Engine Standard RT tools.

Development Team Biography

Leandro Galimany

Over 25 years of experience in handling, processing, migrating, classifying, editing, updating, and capturing spatial data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

In team settings, through digitization, coordination, effort estimation, planning, supervision, and resource management, I've worked across various markets such as Cadastre (Municipality of Tigre, Municipality of Vicente López, Cadastre of the Province of Formosa, etc.), Oil and Gas (REPSOL-YPF, YPF S.A., Petrobras, Indalo Group, Pan American Energy, Transportadora de Gas del Sur S.A., Transportadora de Gas del Perú S.A., MetroGAS, etc.).

I've been involved in aerotriangulation of satellite images and aerial photos, generation of digital elevation and surface models, extraction of contour lines, orthorectification, and creation of mosaics.

I also conduct consultancies, demos, surveys, and the publication of services, applications, and maps using both desktop and mobile esri's ArcGIS platform.
