Project Goal
At Penske Transportation Solutions, we move the things that move the world forward. To be successful, we need an enterprise geospatial database to keep and track the locations of the things we move and what impact them. Therefore, our goal is to build a comprehensive geodatabase – a shared enterprise geospatial database to facilitate our effort to drive geospatial innovation continually from one-off, project-by-project activity to a core capability that will accelerate and strengthen our digital strategy.Business Problem Solved
From logistics to customer analytics, we recognize that geospatial data is an essential part of the knowledge base we need to conduct geospatial analysis. To prevent duplication, siloing, and inefficient use of resources, we need to establish a shared enterprise geospatial database foundation. We are required to collaborate with essential business organizations to understand their business needs and bring critical elements of data from different relational databases and data warehouses together to develop a common geospatial database capable of serving the entire enterprise.
