Project Goal

Land security in Togo
The objective of our project was to set up a GIS which is used by the land registration office (cadastral office). Designed using Arcgis enterprise, the system makes it possible to register all plots and share land informations with all land stakeholders in Togo. The system is currently used by around 300 employees of Togo cadastral office.

Business Problem Solved

The old land security system was managed in some case with AutoCAD software drawing and in the other case on paper plans. this system did not guarantee enhanced security because the AutoCAD file is often subject to loss of information (unintentional deletion of data) and the paper plans became unreadable as they wore out. In addition, that system did not promote collaborative work because the Autocad file could only be edited by one person at a time. The GIS database design with the new system makes networking possible with the capacity to have a history of each modification and their author.

Technology Implemented

Database: Postgresql/Enterprise Geodatabase
Map server: Arcgis server
Client application (for data editing): Arcmap 10.8;
Data sharing: Portal for Arcgis, Arcgis online; home made Land security webmap application designed using Esri's Javascript API.
